Meet Esther Teller from our Child Welfare Public Policy Committee!
Tell us a little about yourself: passions, family, education… What makes you tick?
My family includes my 23-year-old daughter, our dog Olive, our cat Coconut, and myself. I was raised in New York City, graduated from Brooklyn College, and began working in the theater. My passions are my family, doing tikkun olam, Hebrew for working to heal the world, traveling, and still going to rock concerts.
What inspired your decision to be part of Minaret Foundation?
Being an interracial family, the world is in turmoil, and belonging to a synagogue that is very diverse and inclusive has made me realize that being part of an interfaith community is essential.
How do you envision making a difference in your community?
I have a lot of knowledge about many things, from medicine to the arts. I envision putting every bit of knowledge, passion, and compassion into my professional and volunteer work.
What is your favorite food?
Pizza!
What is your favorite movie?
What is your favorite hobby?
Playing with children, my dog, and my cat. And listening to music!
