Competing In Goodness

Sponsored by

Will the Christians beat the Muslims, who may beat the Jews or the Sikhs? It isn’t a crazy idea; it’s Competing For Goodness! Our program brings faith communities together to see who can raise the most food for their local faith-based food pantry!  Through a friendly competition every year, faith centers compete against one another to collect non-perishable items for their neighbors. The event’s conclusion celebrates neighborly achievement at a unifying potluck event with participating congregations.

What do we hope to achieve?
This interfaith competition is a terrific opportunity to work together to benefit our neighbors, develop a stronger sense of community, and motivate participants to reach out to their faithful friends. Ultimately, by fostering stronger awareness of hunger and using our faith as the vehicle, we hope to create a continuous reminder of the role we must all play together.

After It’s Over
The program’s conclusion brings together competing congregations for awards, performances, dialogue, and a potluck culinary adventure!
