For 14 years, the Muslim-Jewish Christmas (MJC) has brought together Muslims and Jews (and others of faith) around Houston to break bread, laugh, cry, and learn from one another.
For this year’s MJC, we will explore the shared value of honoring our parents in Muslim and Jewish traditions. This program is a unique and easy opportunity to connect and learn about one another through laughter, an activity, and a meal. A light lunch will be served, but we ask that you bring a dessert to share with your table!
The goal of this event has always been very simple—to come together on a day when we have no other commitments and discuss our similarities and differences regarding a specific theme. You don’t need to be a scholar to discuss your views. You just need to be able to voice your opinions with honesty and compassion and have the ability to listen to another side.
This year’s event is in partnership with the Houston Congregation For Reform Judaism, Congregation Beth Israel, and is generously hosted by the Dialogue Institution of Houston. More partners will be announced shortly!
